LARGE SEVRES STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED COVERED VASE

This 19th-century French 'Sevres' porcelain covered urn is truly impressive, featuring ornate ormolu mounts. Its cobalt-blue baluster form is adorned with gilt borders, highlighting a central hand-painted romantic scene depicting a standing man accompanied by two ladies. On the reverse, a landscape scene is intricately painted within a gilt-bordered cartouche. The urn is embellished with intricately detailed gilded bronze wreaths, wings, and hinged ring handles on each side, complementing its conforming socle base. The base itself boasts a gilt bronze rim adorned with continuous acanthus leaf detailing, resting on a shapely gilt bronze plinth, enhancing its overall grandeur.The lid with monogram E within blue interlaced L's Sèvres mark.
